Day 9, Tuesday July 21st:

Christina and Andriana showing us a short power point of what we will be doing over the next few days

Christina and Andriana showing us a short power point of what we will be doing over the next few days

This morning Adriana and Christina showed us a brief power point explaining what they had in store for us for the next few days. After that we broke up into two groups visiting a man named Andrew who had lived in Chelsea his entire life telling us his opinions on how he feels about what the high line has been turned into from what it use to be.  And a local real estate  firm that is in the middle of constructing a residential building filled with vastly over priced studios and penthouses supposedly meant for the ‘middle man’.

After that we went to the high line, engaging random people on the high line and discussing their opinions on the design of the high line and what drew them to visit it. We then went exploring the high line observing what many design concepts made it such a popular structure.

Day 10, Wensday July 22nd:

Andriana teaching design concepts

Andriana teaching design concepts

Today we reunited with Andrea and Christina to talk about the invisible, visible, and the successful design components of the high line.  We collaborated on how we could incorporate these concepts into our ‘History of the Future’ interpretation of the high-line as well as adding entirely new concepts to our version. After sharing our ideas and forming a game plan of what the final product is intended to be we split up into four groups each working on a certain task for our ‘mid-line’: The first group is M.A.S. (Mobile Ad System), including Spencer, Matey, Luis and Siena. The second group is I.C.D. (Interaction Creation and Device), including Jade, Zoe, Fernando and Usman. The third group is A.S.R. (Artistic Self Representation), including Brandy, Luther, Brittany and Lilly. And the forth and final group is M.P.W. (Mobile Plant Workshop), including Caroline, Evonny and Natique. Tomorrow we will begin actually designing and building the structures for our party.
